The ledger has a accounting Act of Congress date of 10th day of April, in the year 1874. Manufactured by E.A. & J.A. Ford, Grand Rapids, Michigan. The ledger is divided into 49 different sections in 199 ledger pages. Examples of the sections are Wheat Account~Consolidated~Wheat Account Itemized, Buckwheat Account~Consolidated~Buckwheat Itemized, Cattle Account~Consolidated~Cattle Account Itemized, Horse and Mule Account both ways, Butter, Eggs, Poultry and Diary Account both ways, Orchard and Fruit Account both ways, Expenditure Account both way, Indebtedness Account both ways, Hired Help Record, Breed Animals~Mares, Cows, Swine, Sheep Accounts and many more. Not all accounts have been used, but many have by the original owner. The original wrote his name (Joseph Forest), the date (March the 21, 1883) and his location St. Joseph Co. Lockport, township.
