Airlines + Aviation Vintage Travel Agency Metal Ticket Validation Plate UNITED

Description

These plates were used to validate passenger tickets at the travel agency.  Airlines would issue the plates to authorized travel agencies, that were licensed and the tickets would get stamped (just like an old hand held credit card machine) to validate the ticket for flying.  This was for tickets back then, which were hand written or printed at the agency.  An agency would have to have a contract and authorization from each individual carrier, so these plates were usually stored in a safe, as per
The International Air Transport Association's (IATA) guidelines.  At the end of the month, an inventory was taken and current accounting to make sure all tickets that were issued, matched with the sales of that month, as per ARC's rules (Airlines Reporting Corporation).
In this listing, you are purchasing a Vintage (from the very early 1990's) Airline Validation Metal plate, that was used in that era.  You will be receiving:

The article pictured, is the exact item you will be receiving.  I will be listing various plates from current airlines to many that no longer service the industry, as they went bankrupt and/or were purchased by another carrier.  These plates are no longer in practice making them a unique find for an aviation collector or an individual that enjoys travel.  Great craft item to be added to a wooden crate, to just framing.  The patina on the plates are original, which just adds to their beauty and age.

This item is being shipped via USPS mail (tracking with NO insurance).  If the buyer wishes insurance coverage, an additional charge will be added to reflect coverage for the final purchased price (.25 for up to .00 of insurance).  Please reach out if you desire such, so I can send an invoice reflecting coverage.  I always mail items out the next available pick up date (when possible) to expedite delivery.
Metal Plate will be mailed with a hard backer to prevent damage or bending via transport.  The item will also be bubble wrapped to preserve it's condition.
Terms and Conditions:
All items are sold as-is, with no returns accepted due to their collectible nature and/or condition.  Buyer is to please kindly pay for product(s) they purchase in a timely manner, within 48 hours.  I, as a Seller, will provide shipping information to the buyer and a tracking number, so they can monitor their parcel.  It is the responsibility of the buyer if they have parcels stolen (a history of and/or possibility) to contact the carrier to put a hold on the package if they will not be available (i.e. home) at time of delivery.  Insurance is an option I can add to every purchase, so this is a cost that is to be added to the purchase price along with shipping costs.  This means that if you desire insurance, please wait until I send you an invoice that reflects the cost of the coverage.  Please do not assume your parcel has coverage until you receive an invoice from us because coverage needed can only be determined until AFTER the auction ends.  I ship via USPS.

: We will be reaching out before the auction ends.  I will be forced to cancel bids of members that do not reply in a timely manner (or at all) and/or confirm to follow through with their obligation to pay when the auction ends.  Such members will be blocked and reported to eBay.  We will submit for an investigation when potential and/or suspicious fraudulent accounts need a review (IP usage that mirrors other accounts).  If the account is being used as secondary account to "snipe" a auction (i.e. other Seller selling same item is trying to manipulate auctions of like kind and/or a history of bidding on items related to one Seller ID most times).  Or members who want to use an account to place bids they will intentionally default on because they want to secure the item, so no else gets it, but have not made up their mind if they really want it ("flakes").  The transaction process on eBay is a simple one, and we plan to keep it as such and fair for everyone.  I do not cancel bids and/or retract bids unless I suspect fraud and will do my best to keep the eBay community a pleasant experience for everyone, by removing "members" that are a potential fraud risk and/or have a history of not following the standards set forth.  You are responsible for your own account and treat it accordingly.

Just let us know and we will send out an invoice reflecting such because eBay does not combine it automatically.  If you check out and do not request a combined shipping invoice (and pay), we are unable to issue refunds!  Fees are not reimbursed for such errors, so please make sure to reach out BEFORE and let us know, so we may accommodate a combined shipping sale.
