Honeywell 7940WH UNIVERSAL CONTACT, RECESS MOUNT with 1.0"" GAP, SURFACE MOUNT with 2.0"" GAP IN WHITE.
The 7940 contact comes in (2) colors. The white contact is part number 7940WH and the brown contact is part number 7940BR. Unfortunately, the replacement magnet only comes in the white color. You can choose to paint the cover of the 7940WH-M magnet to match your 7940BR contact, if you would like them both to be brown. Each Honeywell 7940WH-M consists of a magnet and a plastic cover.
The Honeywell 7940WH-M universal magnet can be used with both a recessed door contact and a surface mount door contact as you can install it recessed or surface mounted. If the 7940WH-M magnet is surface mounted, you can have the 7940 contact as far away as 2” without tripping an alarm. When you recess mount the 7940WH-M magnet, the magnet gap is only 1” so make sure that your magnet is within 1” of the 7940 recessed contact when the door or window is closed.
