Randy Owens "Red on Red" signed Berger, Alesi, the artist and framed

This imposing serigraph by Randy Owens is not printed by a disinterested contractor, but made from hand cut color separations by the artist.
"Red on Red" is  an impressive  work with a Ferrari Red powder coated frame that measures 36" by 18" enclosing the the black matting .
The accurately detailed image of the drivers and cars and the surrealistic rendering of their environment lends this, and all of the artists works, a  texture unlike most other race car art and the frame and matting complement the subject.
Many Formula One  pairings are an acrimonious shotgun marriage of two hyper competitive personalities. Berger and Alesi were certainly hyper competitive, but in spite of the pressures of the job and those from the team, they remained friends with a healthy mutual respect, even in the close quarters depicted so well in this work.
As a note on the serigraph method used to create this, it is not a print made on a machine by the 100s or 1,000s. Each serigrtaph is hand laid by the artist, sometimes in up to 40 color applications. Well cared for and an appropriate reminder of a complementary driving pairing in good, but possibly not the best, cars at that time. I
